Call of Duty leak reveals return of beloved Zombies game mode after five years

A leak revealed an iconic Zombies game mode is  returnofbeloved set to return for the first time since Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.

We still don’t know much about Call of Duty 2025, but all signs point toward the game being a Black Ops 2 sequel set in the near future.

As a follow-up, the title is reportedly set to feature several iconic multiplayer maps from the original release alongside new maps. Rumblings also suggest that the popular Pick 10 Create-a-Class system, round-based zombies, and an open-world campaign will be included.

And since this is reportedly a Black Ops sequel, it only makes sense to bring back Dead Ops Arcade.

Dead Ops Arcade reportedly coming back in CoD 2025

Call of Duty leaker Reality revealed they found the codename ztron in the game files, which refers to Dead Ops Arcade.

One codename for SATURN that I find interesting, is "sat_pi_ztronraygun"

Dead Ops Arcade first appeared as a hidden game mode in Black Ops. Players had to access a computer on the menu screen and type in a code to access the twin-stick top-down shooter.

From there, players had to survive as many rounds as possible against increasingly challenging waves of zombies. The mode was far more forgiving than traditional Zombies, because players had unlimited ammo and also could pick up new weapons and power-ups.

The developers went all out for the hidden mode, including various levels, weapons, enemy types, hazards, vehicles, and power-ups to discover. Dead Ops Arcade became a cult classic favorite and Treyarch went on to release a sequel in for Black Ops 3 in 2015, and another iteration for Black Ops Cold War in 2020.

Each new game went above and beyond and expanded upon the original experience. It’s unclear what another installment in the series will look like, but it will surely be welcomed with open arms.
